Otis Neal Daniels, Sr., 80, left us on June 10, 2021, at 8:34 a.m. with family by his side. Otis was born July 31, 1940 in Austin, Texas to Franklin Daniels and Clara Hutchinson Daniels. He attended L. L. Campbell Elementary School, Kealing Jr. High and L. C. Anderson High School, where he was introduced to Adell Alma McCarther by a high school classmate. They fell I love and were married on December 25, 1959.

Otis worked and retired from the Internal Revenue Service and was the successful owner of Otis Building and Maintenance Service and several rental properties.

His interest included family – he was a hardworking, loving husband and father of six children. He devoted most of his time and energy to being an entrepreneur. His charm and smile lightened every given moment. He was known for his spirit of giving selflessly to others, even strangers, and staying close and connected to family. Throughout his years, he loved listening to R&B music. His favorite artists included Johnny Taylor, The Temptations, and more.

Otis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Adell Alma Daniels, and five children: Clara Yevone Thompson (spouse, Douglas Thompson), Otis Neal Daniels Jr., Louria Ann Harrigan (spouse Earl Harrigan), Romana Lynn Daniels (spouse Clarence Johnson) and Nicole Daniels Bradford (spouse Kyle Bradford). He is the oldest of his mother’s eight children and is survived by his siblings: sister Clara Jane Hagan, Thomas Daniels, Robert Daniels and two half-sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents, father Franklin Daniels and mother Clara Hutchinson Daniels; daughter Felicia Evette Daniels, brothers Frank Daniels, Clarence Daniels and Ronnie Daniels and sister Emma Daniels. He is survived by his thirteen grandchildren Tameckea, Ronald, Robert, Trimica, Kendra, LaToria, Erica, Otis III, Shenequa, Michael, Kristen, Kyle, Jr., and Karlyn; and twenty-six great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
