Affordable shades for all cycling disciplines
Buy now for £39.95 from Cyclestore
Plenty of coverage
Fends off fog well
Replacement lenses aren't too expensive
Might be a bit big for small faces
The Madison Crypto sunglasses received rare full marks by reviewer Liam earlier this year, and for good reason. They're cheap, and offer incredible performance whether you're on a road, gravel or mountain bike.
Madison says the plastic the glasses are constructed from have memory so they can flex before returning to their original shape, and the single piece lens is interchangeable and impact and scratch resistant.
They also fend off fog pretty well and provide exceptional coverage and comfort, making them easy to recommend.

Prestacycle Prestaratchet Go
Prestacycle Prestaratchet Go

A very handy on-the-go tool
Buy now for £25 from Decathlon
Excellent ratchet
Huge 30Nm capability
All the bits you'll need
Other useful functions
Small and light
Five-year warranty
Nice wallet
Hard to thread the thick strips
A great little bit of kit for the cyclist in your life that likes to be prepared on the road is the Prestacycle Prestaratchet Go.
Awarded a 10/10 by our reviewer, Mike, it's a good jersey in the pocket solution to mid-ride mechanicals as well as being at home in the car or van for some post-ride fettling.
You get a ratchet as well as necessary bits and other tools for £30, plus a five-year warranty, which is pretty hard to beat.

Wrap up warm on your post-Christmas bike rides
Great breathability
Close fit
Very soft-feeling fabric
Washes well
Slightly tight fit to remove when ridin
A neck warmer is a nice addition to any cyclist's wardrobe, particularly for those who still venture outside during winter.
We rated the Sportful SRK Neck Warmer as a stellar choice for a reliable and stylish accessory for wintry rides. There are four other colours (including hi-vis) to choose from, too.
It provides excellent wind-blocking capabilities and proved invaluable during chilly rides for our reviewer.

Velocio Arm Warmer
Velocio Arm Warmer

Premium arm warmers for your off-season spins
Lightweight
Packable
Great fit
Pricey
Arm warmers are another staple of the year-round cyclist's wardrobe, particularly useful as they can easily be added or removed during a ride if you find the forecast was incorrect...
There are lots of different arm warmers on the market, but we like these from Velocio (even though they're a bit pricier than some other options) because they're stripped back to basics. No silicone, grippers or the like, and yet they stay put and offer a generous length.

SportJock Super Sports Bra
SportJock Super Sports Bra

Comfort and support without the chafing
Supersoft
Great comfort
Washes well
Not the maximum support it claims, in my opinion
If you have a female cyclist in your life in need of a present, a sports bra could be something they'd appreciate, just make sure you get the right size...
This bra from SportJock offers medium support so covers sports like cycling, and also provides superb comfort and softness without chafing.
At £32 it's also pretty reasonably priced, too.

Fits multiple styles and sizes of bikes even with frame bags
Left or right handed operation from same cage and height adjustable

Fitting is a little different than usual
Perhaps a little bit of a niche gift to receive this Christmas, but useful nonetheless...is the Restrap Side Release Bottle Cage.
It's relatively inexpensive, yet pretty nifty and offers a great solution for those with teeny tiny frames. Or, those who run frame bags and still want access to their water bottles.

Another book suggestion- I can highly recommend "Lost Summers and Half-Forgotten Afternoons: A Mint Sauce collection" - a beautifully presented collection of Mint Sauce cartoons from Jo Burt (plus sticker options too!)https://www.isolapress.com/shop/mint-sauce

As an urban commuter cyclist I really want a set of indicators that actually work.
I've bought 4 now.
The first was great, apart from the battery life in the remote (about a week and not rechargeable).
The 2nd was junk.
But I've actually got two now that are quite good. I wouldn't fit them to a Pinarello, but for a budget commuter bike they don't look stupdily out of place, get drivers' attention and work pretty reliably.|
No nodding dogs or novelty illuminated balls though. I may be stupid, but I'm not THAT stupid.
