OverviewDesign a space-based power supply with multiple output voltages for use on a geosynchronous satellite with a 15-year mission life
ResponsibilitiesDesign SMT-based power rails for a phased array antenna in geosynchronous orbit
Perform worst case and derating analyses, adjust design accordingly to meet requirements
Select components with appropriate radiation hardening and reliability in accordance with the program PM&P plan, minimizing BoM cost and specifying a path to achieve the proper pedigree for the mission
Prepare design review slides and present the power supply design in front of the customer if requested
Provide finalized BoM, schematics, all relevant data, and layout characteristics for completed power supply design
QualificationsMinimum:Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE), or related field, including power electronics
Twenty (20)+ years of related experience in design and development of power supplies
Open-loop stability analysis for DC/DC converter
Planning of the return paths and managing ground current
Transient analysis for power supplies
Component selection for space environments
Worst case analysis
Derating analysis
EMI analysis and mitigation design
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Pay Range: $67/hour to $105/hour (San Diego).
Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate
